Cloud Infrastructure Engineer – no C2C
*Onsite 3x a week in Teaneck, NJ*
The Cloud Infrastructure Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the infrastructure that supports the applications hosted in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and AWS. This role requires close collaboration with development teams, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless operation across different environments. Must have experience with OCI.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, configure, and maintain the infrastructure components for the Customer Applications team.
- Work closely with architects and development teams to gather infrastructure requirements and ensure they align with architectural standards and best practices.
- Implement solutions for high availability, backup, and disaster recovery to guarantee business continuity and protect data.
- Monitor infrastructure performance, identify bottlenecks, and apply optimizations and performance tuning.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning, deployment, and configuration using scripts and automation tools to enhance efficiency.
- Collaborate with security teams to implement security controls and ensure compliance with industry standards and company policies.
- Provide technical support and resolve infrastructure-related issues in coordination with the development team and external vendors.
- Stay informed on the latest updates in infrastructure technologies and industry best practices to evaluate their impact on current and future solutions.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- At least 5 years of experience in designing, implementing, and managing infrastructure services or in a similar role.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Expertise in managing, configuring, and troubleshooting Linux systems, including storage and networking.
- Knowledge of database management systems, including patching and upgrading databases.
- Experience with CI/CD tools and version control systems (e.g., GitLab).
- Familiarity with agile methodologies, DevOps practices, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Proficiency in scripting languages for automating infrastructure management (e.g., Python, Shell, Ansible).
- Experience with cloud platforms such as OCI and AWS, and how to integrate them.
- Strong knowledge of high availability, disaster recovery, and backup strategies for mission-critical systems.
- Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills for resolving complex issues.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to create and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications.
- Knowledge of Oracle Utilities technology stack (e.g., Oracle Utilities Application Framework, Customer Care and Billing, WebLogic) is a strong advantage.
- Experience in working with teams in both onshore and offshore environments.
