VP Platform Engineering (hybrid or remote)
Our client is a world-renowned not-for-profit. They are currently seeking a VP of Platform Engineering who will be responsible for the strategic planning, design, implementation, and support of all systems, including platform engineering, solution architecture, and operations.
**Client prefers someone who can work hybrid in NYC but will consider remote. Can be RTH or FTE.
**MUST be able to work without the need for any work visa transfer or sponsorship (now or in the future). W2 only. **
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with senior leadership to define and implement IT strategy and policies aligned with business goals.
- Lead the architecture, design, development, and deployment of scalable infrastructure and platform technologies.
- Drive a robust API-as-a-Service model to support system integration and scalability.
- Cultivate a high-performing engineering culture focused on innovation, continuous improvement, and collaboration.
- Oversee system availability, performance, and issue resolution across platforms.
- Lead vendor selection, contract negotiations, and ongoing vendor management.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope and budget, and meet technical and business requirements.
- Advocate for customer-focused solutions that deliver reliability, performance, and value.
Required Competencies:
- Deep expertise in enterprise IT systems (e.g., CRM, ERP, web-based platforms).
- Strong understanding of application development, cloud infrastructure and API/microservices architecture.
- Broad experience with integration and CRM platforms.
- Proven experience managing large-scale, cross-functional IT projects and change initiatives.
- Strong financial acumen, including developing and managing IT budgets.
- Leadership in both internal staff development and vendor personnel management.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to bridge technical and business audiences.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 10+ years of leadership experience in IT across multidisciplinary functions with a background in engineering and managing engineering initiatives.
Salary: $90 – $105 / per Hour
