Senior Backend Engineer (Python, PySpark) HYBRID 3 days onsite Los Angeles, CA

We’re looking for a Senior Backend/Data Platform Engineer with extensive handson experience in Python, PySpark, and Databricks. You will be part of a talented team that builds next generation of high- performance data systems.
What You’ll Do:
- Engineer, optimize, and maintain backend services and data platform using Python, PySpark, and Databricks.
- Build scalable APIs and microservices that power mission-critical applications across the enterprise.
- Work on PostgreSQL data models to ensure rock-solid reliability and performance.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams in delivering resilient, scalable platforms.
- Dive into performance tuning, debugging, and production troubleshooting when systems need your expertise.
- Integrate with external systems like OpenText (a plus).
What You Bring
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience focused on backend systems.
- Proven development skills in Python, PySpark, and Databricks especially for heavy data processing and platform work.
- A deep understanding of backend architecture, distributed systems, and modern API design.
- Handson experience with PostgreSQL or similar relational databases.
- Experience working with cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, GCP) and CI/CD tooling.
- An independent, analytical mindset with a passion for tackling complex engineering challenges.
